Coaching

General definition:

A training combines information with a certain level of practice.

The consultant analyses the situation together with the client and suggests a range of options for action, presenting the pro´s and can’s for each of them.

Coaching is a mixture of skills and techniques, which help the clients (usually senior managers) to discover by themselves the solutions they need. Each client is viewed as a creative, resource-rich personality.

Working tools:

Information and words. The states and conditions are dealt with in a light, game-like manner.

Message:

The message is unambiguous – someone is here to tell you what to do and just how to do it.

There is no unambiguous answer. There is not even an attempt for giving an opinion, the focus is instead on assisting the other person in reaching her or his own conclusions and solutions.

Motivation for action:

If the solution has been forced upon oneself from outside, even if it is very well explained, one acts with a certain level of caution, not accepting it completely as one’s own.

When someone reaches a solution by oneself, she or he is motivated to implement it.
